It cannot be emphasised enough how important good shoeing is in keeping horses sound
and poor foot balance can often cause lameness or worsen an existing problem. Our
practice farrier is Beckie Mabbutt. She works regularly at the clinic trimming and
shoeing problem cases using a wide variety of corrective techniques. In some cases
X-rays are needed to guide in the trimming of a problem foot. Horses requiring sedating
for the farrier are also brought to the clinic or the vet will attend to sedate on
your yard. Some lower limb lameness problems can be greatly helped by a variety
of technical shoeing.
